Rep. Jill Cooper and Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward are set to host a grant workshop aimed at educating local governments and nonprofits on grant writing and preparing successful applications. The event will take place on Wednesday, April 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Delmont Fire Hall on State Route 66.

“Applying for grants can be a complicated process, and our municipalities and nonprofits don’t always have people who know the ins and outs of the application process,” said Cooper. “Sen. Ward and I are bringing in the experts to help folks learn the ropes and hopefully give them better chances to bring back crucial grant funding to our area.”

Ward underscored the importance of the workshop, saying, “To help our community better partner with government, I am pleased to be able to work with Rep. Cooper to provide this grant workshop for municipalities and nonprofits. Bringing subject matter experts to Westmoreland to help navigate and understand the grant application process is an important step to secure funding from the state.”

The workshop will feature guest speakers, including experts from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, a Pennsylvania Senate funding and resource specialist, and a Westmoreland County commissioner.

Reservations are necessary for attendees, who can secure their spot by calling 724-387-9113.

Cooper, representing the 55th Legislative District in Pennsylvania, can be contacted for more information through Jordan Frei at 724-875-8450 or via email at jfrei@pahousegop.com. Addition information can be found on RepJillCooper.com and Facebook.com/RepJillCooper.
