A public hearing was held by the Murrysville Council to discuss proposed amendments to the 2025 operating budget and present the 2026 operating budget. Jacie Milchak, Director of Finance, explained that the proposed 2026 budget is balanced and will maintain current municipal service levels while continuing investments in critical infrastructure. She stated, “the proposed 2026 Operating Budget is a balanced plan that maintains the same high level of municipal services that our residents expect, and it continues to invest in critical infrastructure and does so without any tax increases.” The total for the 2026 operating budget is $17,026,370, representing a 4.1% decrease from the amended 2025 budget.
Another public hearing addressed Z-2-25, which concerns rezoning 3.06 acres of land identified as Tax Parcel 49-11-00-0-129 from P-L Public Land to R-2 Medium Density Residential.
During council action items, Ordinance No. 1104-25—which would have established regulations for abandoned and vacant residential, industrial, and commercial structures—did not move forward due to a lack of a motion.
Council approved Z-2-25, allowing Murrysville Enterprises to rezone the specified land along Hills Church Road from public land use to medium density residential.
Other items included tabling decisions on SP-1-25 and S-2-25 related to Summerhill Phase 2 Subdivision. Council also awarded Verardi Landscaping a contract worth $44,000 for cleaning and maintenance at Fair Oaks basin and Forest Ridge basin.
Residents can find approved minutes of previous meetings under Agendas and Minutes on the municipality’s homepage.
The next council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 18th at 7:00 p.m.
