Rep. Eric Nelson has announced two upcoming community events for residents of the 57th Legislative District. A free seminar titled “Older and Wiser” will take place on April 30 at the McKenna Center for Active Adults from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The event will cover estate planning, power of attorney, and financial matters. Speakers from the Westmoreland Bar Association, Area Agency on Aging, and Somerset Trust will be present. Attendees are required to RSVP by contacting Nelson’s Greensburg district office.

A paper shredding event is scheduled for May 15, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Hempfield Township Park and Athletic Complex. Residents can bring up to four bags or boxes of personal documents for free shredding. The documents will be shredded on-site and then recycled locally. The event may be canceled due to bad weather. Those interested can contact Nelson’s office for more information.

Both events aim to engage community members and provide useful services. The public can find further information by visiting RepNelson.com or Nelson’s Facebook page. The 57th Legislative District encompasses various communities within Westmoreland County, including Greensburg and Hempfield Township.
