Chief Deputy Whip Guy Reschenthaler has expressed his support for H.R. 1, known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, following a vote in favor of the legislation. In a statement, Reschenthaler emphasized the significance of this bill in fulfilling promises made by former President Donald J. Trump.

“President Donald J. Trump made a promise to the American people — he would restore our nation, secure its borders, and usher the United States into a new golden age,” Reschenthaler stated. He described the bill as “pro-worker, pro-family, and pro-small business,” highlighting its potential impact on tax cuts and border security.

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act aims to prevent a 22 percent tax increase on working families by making permanent the tax cuts introduced in 2017 under Trump’s administration. It also proposes eliminating taxes on tips and overtime pay while providing significant investment in border security, including extensive construction of border walls.

Additionally, the bill seeks to ensure that illegal immigrants do not receive taxpayer benefits and promises substantial deficit reduction over three decades. It includes measures to reduce taxes on Social Security and strengthen programs like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.

The legislation also intends to reverse certain energy policies from President Biden’s administration while enhancing national defense systems and improving conditions for U.S. servicemembers.
