More than $2.8 million in state grants have been approved for infrastructure projects in Pennsylvania’s 58th Legislative District, according to an announcement from Rep. Eric Davanzo (R-Westmoreland). The funds, distributed by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), will support improvements across several municipalities.
“These projects improve public safety, are economy boosters and extend much-need utilities,” said Davanzo. “I appreciated working along with Sen. Kim Ward on seeing these important investments made in our region.”
The CFA is an independent agency under the Department of Community and Economic Development and allocates funding through programs aimed at economic growth. The latest grants were awarded through the Multimodal Transportation Fund and the Small Water and Sewer grant programs.
A total of $2,829,807 was allocated to the district. Specific awards include $350,000 for Mount Pleasant Township to extend a water line on Slope Hill; $672,330 for North Belle Veron Borough to make improvements on Broad Avenue; $116,950 for Rostraver Township for upgrades to the Willow Links stormwater system; $190,527 for South Huntingdon Township to extend a water line on Mendon Road; and $1.5 million for West Newton Borough to improve Vine and Water streets as well as rehabilitate sewer equipment.
