Graduates earn 208 degrees, certificates from Douglas Education Center

About 76.4 percent of the 208 degrees and certificates handed out by Douglas Education Center in 2017-18 were to students in personal and culinary services programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private for-profit institution in Monessen conferred 97 associate's degrees and 62 certificates in personal and culinary services programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in make-up artist/specialist. Data shows the school gave out 97 associate's degrees in make-up artist/specialist, followed by 34 certificates in aesthetician/esthetician and skin care specialist and 28 certificates in truck and bus driver/commercial vehicle operator and instructor.

The center enrolled 213 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
