The Westmoreland Museum of American Art is set to host its annual Art in Bloom event, welcoming spring with a series of floral displays and special activities. The event will run from March 26 to March 30, offering free admission for museum members and $10 for non-members on the first four days. On the final day, admission will be free for everyone.
This year, international creative director Ed Libby will contribute two floral installations inspired by pieces from the museum's collection. "Ed Libby is excited to bring the magic of his floral installations...to the 2025 Art in Bloom celebration," stated Kathleen M. O’Hara, Special Projects Coordinator for Ed Libby & Company.
Additionally, Chef William Racin from Westmoreland County Community College will create a sugar-based floral design also inspired by art at the museum. Dr. Cindy Komarinski noted that Chef Racin's work "is an example of a blend of arts" and expressed delight in seeing it displayed at The Westmoreland.
Art in Bloom will feature various events including a sold-out floral design workshop, an after-hours event titled Flowers After Hours, and a tea party which has also sold out. Visitors can enjoy floral-themed home décor and accessories available at the Museum Shop along with pop-up artisans showcasing their crafts throughout the event.
Silvia Filippini-Fantoni, PhD., Director/CEO of The Westmoreland Museum, expressed enthusiasm about this year's offerings: “We are very much looking forward to presenting Art in Bloom with several special additions this year.”
The museum continues to provide cultural experiences aimed at building community through art. General admission outside of special events remains free.
