WASHINGTON, D.C. – Chief Deputy Whip Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) delivered the following remarks on the House floor when he managed the Rule Debate on several measures to support Israel, America’s strongest ally in the Middle East, and hold Iran, the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world, accountable for its recent attacks.

Reschenthaler began by criticizing President Joe Biden's foreign policy decisions, stating, "President Joe Biden’s foreign policy decisions have been a complete disaster on the world stage and have emboldened our adversaries and empowered foreign terrorist organizations." He went on to quote former President Obama’s Defense Secretary, Robert Gates, who had previously remarked about President Biden, "I think he has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades."

Reschenthaler highlighted a series of actions taken by the Biden administration, including decisions on energy policies, immigration, and international relations, which he deemed detrimental. He expressed concern over the administration's handling of various foreign policy matters, particularly regarding Iran and its recent attack on Israel.

In response to these concerns, Reschenthaler emphasized the importance of supporting legislation that condemns Iran's actions, blocks payments to Iran, and applies pressure on the Iranian regime. He urged his colleagues to stand with Israel and oppose the authoritarian regime in Tehran, stating, "We cannot stand idly by as the Biden Administration hands over the keys to the Ayatollah, Chairman Xi, and Vladimir Putin."

The Rule Debate managed by Reschenthaler focused on measures aimed at supporting Israel and holding Iran accountable. The bills discussed included H.R. 6323, H. Res. 1143, H.R. 4691, H.R. 5947, H.R. 6046, and H.R. 4639.

As the debate continues, the House Republicans are pushing for actions that align with their stance on foreign policy, emphasizing the need to prioritize America's interests and alliances in the Middle East and beyond.
