Rep. Jill Cooper from the 55th District of Pennsylvania has expressed concerns over the current state of inflation and energy policy in the state Capitol. Cooper highlighted the impact of rising prices on everyday products and the need for a review of policies driving inflation.

Speaking on the matter, Rep. Jill Cooper stated, "Some argue that inflation has slowed, but speaking with constituents, as well as managing my own budget, I am in complete disagreement. It is costing us more to buy everyday products including food and clothing." Cooper emphasized the widespread sentiment among businesses, stating, "their prices are higher."

Cooper stressed the importance of managing government costs to avoid overburdening taxpayers and called for a review of current policies contributing to inflation. She also raised concerns about misguided political pressures leading to policies that could further exacerbate inflation, particularly in the energy sector.

Highlighting the impact of energy costs on inflation, Cooper pointed out the significant spike in consumer prices in 2021 and its repercussions on various industries. She warned against hasty decisions to eliminate fossil fuels from energy production, citing potential consequences on inflation rates.

In opposition to House Bill 1842, which proposes the Community Solar Act, Rep. Jill Cooper expressed reservations about the potential increase in costs for all rate payers. She questioned the reliability of solar energy and raised concerns about policies influencing consumer habits and market dynamics.

Furthermore, Cooper emphasized the need for a balanced energy policy that supports production and economic development in Pennsylvania. She advocated for initiatives that would benefit residents and small businesses while promoting energy independence for the state.

In addition to addressing energy policy and inflation, Rep. Jill Cooper shared news on boosting autism awareness and acceptance during Autism Acceptance Month. She also highlighted the advancement of a bill honoring Gold Star families, aiming to construct a memorial monument on state Capitol grounds.
