158 coaches at institutions in Westmoreland County earned $24,728 on average in 2022

Westmoreland County’s 158 coaches earned an average salary of $24,728 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the seventh lowest average salary per county earned by coaches at Pennsylvania post-secondary schools during 2022.

Westmoreland County is home to four post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, Seton Hill University stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $49,758.

Male coaches of men's teams received $29,610 on average in Westmoreland County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $22,246.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
