State Rep. Jill Cooper (R-Westmoreland) is inviting constituents in the 55th District to attend three upcoming free events.

The second wave of Cooper’s Dragon Egg Hunt is now underway. This event coincides with a resolution she has sponsored in the state House recognizing Aug. 17, 2024, as International Geocaching Day in Pennsylvania.

Cooper partnered with Dash Printworks, which has placed dragon eggs that can be searched for solo, as a family or with a team. People who find an egg are encouraged to read the enclosed note. Clues on where to find the eggs can be found at RepJillCooper.com, as well as on her Facebook and Instagram pages.

“This interactive event is a fun way to explore our local communities,” said Cooper. “We have had quite a few lucky winners, and I cannot wait to hear more about how the next batch of eggs are located.”

A disclaimer notes that safety is paramount and that eggs will not be placed on private property or in dangerous locations. If egg seekers find themselves in such environments, they should re-evaluate the clues and hints.

Her Community Health, Wellness and Career Fair will be held on Saturday, July 27, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Knead Café, Banquet on Barnes, 1011 Barnes St., New Kensington. This free event is available to residents throughout the 55th District and will feature various organizations serving local neighborhoods. There will also be a prize raffle and live bloodhound demonstration.

“Everyone has various needs, and community organizations in our region are dedicated to improving lives,” said Cooper. “Accessibility is key to help guide people in the right direction, and I am happy to bring everyone together to make this happen.”

Cooper will also partner with Summit Legal Aid for a free legal summit where constituents can learn about their rights and participate in an afternoon of community activities. It will take place on Friday, Aug. 9, from 1-4 p.m., at Valley Points Family YMCA, located at 800 Constitution Blvd., New Kensington. Residents of New Kensington and Westmoreland County are welcome to attend.

Pre-registration for the legal summit is encouraged for food planning but not required. Those planning to attend can register by visiting RepJillCooper.com.

All attendees will be entered into a free basket raffle.

For any questions about these events, please contact Cooper’s district office at 724-387-9113.
