FOIA Request to Dekalb County Regarding Vendor Payments on September 26, 2024.
As a part of our ongoing efforts to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at DeKalb Times have submitted a request for records under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140.
The request was made specifically for a list of all payments made to vendors from January 1, 2024 till September 26, 2024. The requested data includes the following fields: Vendor Name, Transaction Date, Transaction Description, and Amount.
As a media organization committed to transparency and accountability in public institutions, we believe that access to such public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. We also believe that as members of the media involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
We will continue our pursuit of providing transparency to the public by holding public institutions accountable through our reporting. We await the response from Dekalb County regarding this request and will keep our readers updated on any developments.
