Rep. Leslie Rossi has announced that the Latrobe-Unity Youngstown Parks and Recreation Commission will receive a $240,600 grant for the rehabilitation of the Rogers McFeely Memorial Pool in Latrobe Borough. The funding comes from the Community Conservation Partnerships Program (C2P2).
"This grant is a key step in improving the quality of life for families in Latrobe and surrounding communities," said Rossi. "The renovation of the Rogers McFeely Memorial Pool will provide a safe, accessible space for recreation and help meet the needs of our growing community. By adding a splash pad and improving the pool’s infrastructure, we are creating a welcoming environment for people of all ages to enjoy, especially during the summer months."
The project involves constructing a new splash pad, installing modern filtration and recirculation systems, enhancing ADA accessibility, landscaping, and putting up a sign acknowledging the grant.
The C2P2 program is managed by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources' Bureau of Recreation and Conservation. It offers financial and technical support to local governments, nonprofits, and organizations for various projects related to parks, recreation, conservation, and greenways.
