Chief Deputy Whip Guy Reschenthaler, a Republican from Pennsylvania, has expressed his support for U.S. Representative Mike Johnson of Louisiana in the election for Speaker of the House. Reschenthaler made his stance clear in a statement following his vote.

"The House’s first duty in the 119th Congress is electing a Speaker of the House – and I was proud to join President Donald J. Trump and my colleagues in support of Mike Johnson," said Reschenthaler.

He emphasized unity among House Republicans under the leadership team consisting of Speaker Johnson, Majority Leader Steve Scalise, Majority Whip Tom Emmer, and Conference Chair Lisa McClain. "House Republicans are united and ready to put America first and deliver on President Trump’s agenda. Let’s get to work," he added.
