Reschenthaler nominates 24 students to US military academies

Chief Deputy Whip Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) has announced the nomination of 24 students from Pennsylvania's 14th Congressional District for admission to U.S. military academies. The nominations are for the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and the U.S. Naval Academy.

"As a U.S. Navy veteran, I understand the importance of lifting up America’s best and brightest to serve our nation in the Armed Forces," said Reschenthaler. "This year, I have the pleasure of nominating 24 individuals from Pennsylvania’s 14th Congressional District to pursue admission at one of our esteemed U.S. service academies. I wish them the best in this chapter of their lives and congratulate them on earning these nominations."

These nominees will now seek to meet their respective academy's admission requirements, with final decisions expected in early 2025. Upon acceptance and graduation, each student is required to serve a minimum of five years in the military.

The list of nominees includes Brennan Ambrose from Donora nominated for the U.S. Naval Academy; Bradan Bronson from Greensburg nominated for three academies including the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy; Elihu Dale from Claysville nominated for two academies including the U.S. Air Force Academy; Vincent Dudzinsky from Blairsville nominated for West Point; Isabella Garnek from Bobtown nominated for the Air Force Academy; Robert Grega from Somerset with dual nominations; Jacob Harvey from Apollo with multiple nominations; Lydia Henderson from Washington nominated for Annapolis; Colton Henning from Homer City nominated for West Point; Jackson Hill from New Kensington aiming for Colorado Springs.

Additional nominees include Leo Joseph and Preston Kessler both aiming for Annapolis, Ava King looking towards Kings Point, Bailey Liska targeting West Point, Matthew McMahon set on Annapolis, Logan Neidermeyer also eyeing Annapolis, Waylon Nist heading towards Colorado Springs, Caleb Noel with dual aspirations including Kings Point, Leilani Ramos focused on West Point, Timothy Reda considering both Colorado Springs and Kings Point.

Further nominees are Jacob Sapienza with dual interests in West Point and Annapolis, Ethan Spangenberg aiming solely at Annapolis along with Allison Tepper who shares that goal.

The nomination process highlights students' dedication to serving their country through military service while pursuing higher education at prestigious institutions.
