House Republican Policy Committee Chairman David H. Rowe and Rep. Leslie Rossi, along with other lawmakers, are organizing a series of hearings titled "Stopping New Energy Taxes." The aim is to scrutinize certain energy policies that are believed to negatively affect consumers and businesses while driving investment opportunities out of Pennsylvania.

The hearings will feature testimony from several industry leaders. Testifiers include Michael Rossi, vice president of operations at Westmoreland Mechanical Testing and Research; Tim Schultheis, president of Schultheis Electric; George Latta, vice president and chief operating officer at PIAD Precision Casting; and Scott Koscho, vice president of support services at Independence Health System.

The first hearing is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 30, at 10 a.m. It will take place at the Ligonier Township Municipal Building, located at 1 Municipal Park Drive, Ligonier, PA 15658.

The event will be streamed online, conditions permitting, according to the media contact, Nancy Nilson. She can be reached at 717-260-6238 or nnilson@pahousegop.com for further information.
