Newly elected Representative Jill Cooper has inaugurated her first district office in Westmoreland County. This initiative is aimed at providing constituents with a direct point of contact for assistance with state-related issues.

"Being available to constituents is amongst the highest of my priorities and I am thrilled to open an office just a few days after assuming my new role," stated Cooper. She emphasized that her office will be a resource for residents facing challenges with state departments.

The Murrysville office, located at 3091 Carson Ave., is the initial site among three planned locations. In December, visits are by appointment only while other offices are being prepared. Constituents can reach the Murrysville office at 724-387-1281. Additional offices in New Kensington and Washington Township/Export are expected to open in January.

Cooper's team includes two staff members experienced in district services from their previous roles with House members. The representative encourages constituents to reach out for help regarding state government matters and Commonwealth programs, such as unemployment compensation or Property Tax and Rent Rebate applications.

"In Harrisburg, I'll be working to eliminate red tape and unnecessary bureaucracy, but in the district, folks often need assistance with paperwork or getting through to a state office," said Cooper. Her staff brings 11 years of combined experience to aid residents with various concerns.

The 55th Legislative District encompasses several areas including Arnold, Lower Burrell (part), New Kensington, Bell Township, Derry Township (part), Loyalhanna Township, Salem Township, Upper Burrell Township, Washington Township; Avonmore Borough, Delmont Borough, Export Borough, New Alexandria Borough, Oklahoma Borough; and the Municipality of Murrysville.
