Cost of college went up for all students at Douglas Education Center

Tuition and fees rose 18.4 percent for 2018-19 at Douglas Education Center, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Pennsylvania students paid $18,980 to attend the two-year private for-profit institution this year – $2,951 more than the $16,029 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 80 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 48 students received grants or scholarships totaling $286,168 and 46 students took out student loans totaling more than $268,817.

Including all undergraduates (213), 151 students used grants or scholarships totaling $888,174, and 120 students took out $1.1 million in federal student loans.
