State Rep. Eric Nelson | Pennsylvania 57th Legislative District
Rep. Eric Nelson of Westmoreland County has announced the allocation of over $325,000 in Local Share Account (LSA) grants. These funds, sourced from the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), are designated for various projects within the 57th Legislative District.
“These grants will help fund needed improvements in our community,” stated Nelson. “It’s great to see gaming funds come back to our area. It eases the financial burden on local governments and non-profits to upgrade equipment and enhance services. Thank you to Senator Ward for her support of these important projects.”
The grant recipients include several organizations and municipalities:
- Economic Growth Connection of Westmoreland received $1,133 to update telephone equipment at two Blackburn Center locations in Greensburg.
- The same organization also secured $12,750 for a market study in Hempfield Township aimed at constructing a new multi-sport facility.
- The City of Greensburg was awarded $68,392 to acquire a new Ford F350 truck for its recreation department.
- Hempfield Township obtained $60,974 for new emergency service equipment intended for Mutual Aid Ambulance Service.
- South Greensburg Borough received $69,150 to replace the boiler and controls at its municipal building that accommodates municipal offices along with fire and police departments.
- Youngwood Borough was granted $112,865 to enhance its Recreational Complex with fencing, bleachers, lights, and field improvements.
