Chief Deputy Whip Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) announced the 2024 Congressional Art Competition winners for Pennsylvania’s 14th Congressional District. The Congressional Art Competition is an annual nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. Over 650,000 high school students have participated in the Congressional Art Competition since 1982.

Sydney Adamsky, a freshman at Indiana Area Senior High School in Indiana County, was awarded first place for her painting titled “An Ode to My Home,” which depicts the Pennsylvania capital building. Her artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year alongside artwork from every congressional district across the country.

Jessica Shaffer, a senior at Connellsville Area High School in Fayette County, was awarded second place for her pencil drawing titled “Foxy.” Jakayla Edwards, a home-schooled sophomore in Fayette County, and Madison Rippey, a junior at Connellsville Area High School in Fayette County, tied for third place with their drawings titled “Celestial Tears” and “A Glimpse of the Sun.”
